Nothing To See Here...
About a week ago was one of Singapore's larger gaming conventions, Licence2Play. There wasn't really much to see although there were a few cosplayers here and there. To kill time I participated in quite a number of game and stage events where there were prizes. I can't really complain about free giveaway prizes can I? Heh. I only took a handful of photos but other than that there wasn't really much other than killing time at the Ragnarok Online 2 and World of Tanks booth in which I've taken a liking to.
Highlights
Licence2Play was quickly preceded by End of Year the following day however it coincided with the second day of Licence2Play but I think it was safe to say most of the crowd would attend End of Year as it was a cosplay specific event. This year they decided to have a change of pace and held the event at Singapore's Marina Barrage which was rather nice since no major cosplay event has been held there before. A wide variety of backdrops could be found there whether it be textured walls or the vast open sea. It was pretty much a field day for any professional or aspiring photographer. End of Year was also a great chance to catch up with friends who I haven't seen for quite some time as well as friends who have been extremely busy as most exams are over so I've been told.
Although there were other things there the main thing on my mind were still the cosplayers as they would be a warm up to the upcoming Comic Fiesta in Malaysia. I managed to catch a few stage performances as well as browse through the doujin booths for a short while.
The turnout (both cosplayers and non-cosplayers) for End of Year was much better than I had originally expected so the crowd was unexpected bigger but luckily enough the venue was quite vast so it manage to accomodate everyone quite nicely.
Those were more or the the cosplayers that caught my eye but mind you there were many others out there who were simply amazing however I did not manage to grab or take a photo of as many managed to disappear from my sight or was occupied with someone else. You can't have them all I guess.
You Are (Not) Prepared!
I think it's safe to say I'm no where near prepared for the trip down to Malaysia. Comic Fiesta is practically at the doorstep and yet I've got quite a few things to settle. One of them being make a new set of name cards to give out whilst I'm down there, the next being a set of earplugs so I get my beauty sleep, restocking on polaroids as well as collecting borrowed equipment just to name a few.
I'll be taking a bus down to Kuala Lumpur in which I'll be staying at Impiana Hotel from Friday to Wednesday so it will be great short holiday with friends aside from the cosplay convention. I guess I should go finish up packing so until then, bye bye! ![]()
